Juliette studied for a self-funded doctorate in Marine Biology with Environmental Engineering, which was awarded in 2013.
Whilst writing up her thesis she also raised two awesome children and built a fabulous eco-efficient home with her fabulous husband.
In 2017, Juliette founded the non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) Seadream Education. Seadream stands for Science & Engineering around Devon, Research, Education and More! It is also the name of her family boat, which they have enjoyed cruising around the South Coast, the Isles of Scilly and France each year for over a decade.
Our fabulous eco-efficient self-build home
Is my house suitable for a heat pump?
New builds present the ideal opportunity for a heat pump.
They last longer if you can have three phase electricity.
What low carbon heat technologies are most suitable?
Ground source heat pump needs a spacious garden if you go vertically – but you can go horizontally using a bore hole.
Air source is working well for family with 3 bed semi house in Scotland!
What information should I ask from an installer?
Do as much research as you can on the internet – talk to people that have the technology that you are interested in.
Should I improve the energy efficiency of my building first?
Definitely. If it’s a new build make as energy efficient as possible – low emissivity e-glass, insulation, air-tight house with mechanical heat recovery ventilation.
